The Environmental Law Practice Group provides advice and defense in administrative procedures and environmental actions. It advises on setting up industries and other ventures in Uruguay, compiles applicable environmental provisions, performs compliance audits and arranges environmental authorizations. It represents local and international clients in negotiations and litigation with government agencies and other companies. Some of these cases have culminated in Supreme Court of Uruguay decisions in favor of the firm’s clients which have become landmarks of Uruguayan environmental law. The team also participates in Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) projects. For years it has been engaged in environmental due diligence procedures and preparation of data rooms in purchase and sale processes and financing of companies in a variety of sectors.
